Jim Knickmeyer Fund
Friends of Jim Knickmeyer have started a fund in his memory to purchase a new gas grill for the Oregon Sportsman’s Club. Jim was a long-time OSC member and a lifelong hunter who enjoyed sharing his love for the outdoors, especially with his grandchildren. The new gas grill would be symbolic of Jim’s love for the outdoors and for the love of bringing people together from all areas of his life. — OSC GAS GRILL FUND — TO MAKE A DONATION PLEASE CONTACT JARED HOOK AT 608-877-9703 or leave a contribution in Jim’s memory with the OSC clubhouse bartender. Youth Archery Tournament
2013 Results (pdf)
The youth archery tournament was great, this filling all but five spots! 74 shooters and 91 spots filled out of 96. Shooters from different areas like Cuba City, Deforest, Lodi, Janesville, Verona, Stoughton New Glarus, Mt Horeb ,Edgerton, Brooklyn, and good old Oregon and I know there is more but I don't remember them all. This is great that all these youth get involved. I would like to thank all the members that helped today the list is very long, so all I can say is its great to see these members come out and help.
I would like to thank all the people that donated raffle prizes Don Ward - Hoyt Bow; Carbon Express for the arrows; Little Jon's for the aluminum arrows; Todd Klahn family for the camera; Steve Roudebush family for the range finder; Bill Alber for the release; and Badger Welding for the Buck knifes. All the people that donated to the awards Stark Automotive Group; Jim Johnson; Peggy Sheldon Family; Steve Stace Family; John Klus from the Hunting and Fishing Guide Service; Jeff Hrubes; and all the people that gave to my Dads memory for the awards.
I would really like to thank the granddaughters, that handed out awards on behave of their grandfathers. They would be proud of them. Thank you, Amanda Holloway and Hunter Klus. This was a special tournament for me because of all the people that helped and shot the tournament this year.
After all I think my Dad and Johns Dad would be proud because they know that we want to see youth programs grow. I remember one saying my dad said to me before January "Getting ready to start kids Archery". I said yes. Then I stopped in to see him after the first class on Saturday he said famous words "How did she go today?" Wanting to know how many, I said "One hundred and twelve kids dad". He said "Better you than me!", then he laughed and said "Keep up the good work". Thanks to everyone that made this day so great.
Thank you,
Jim Lynch
Youth Archery Director
